Roman Karchmarchuk's Memoirs in 1939: The Conspiracy and the Home Army
We all felt like we were in our homeland, walking around with weapons, putting up guards. The Germans knew about the might of the Home Army and slightly overestimated the number of partisans in Grabovets, since there was even a German term saying that Grabovets was a "great gang area" (Grosbandengebit Grabowiec). The consequence of this was the pacification of Grabovets.
The watch "cleared" the territory near the front line. Before the pacification, we had signals about Germany's preparations for Grabovets. Therefore, an order was given to make a jump into the forest, which is called the "front", north of Grabovets, in case of German action. On June 12, 1944, I was the commander of the guards on Mount Grabovets and had the service name "Diegitariev". When I heard the shots and the roar of the engines, I grabbed the LMG and ran towards Grabovets. There it turned out that the Germans had blocked the road to the forest. The city was also surrounded by Uchany, Wojslavice and Hrubieszow. When I saw this, I hid the machine gun in the garden and headed towards the Buffoon. A friend joined me on the way.
After walking about half a kilometer, we saw tanks from the side of the Buffoon. We decided to hide in a narrow area of scarce rye (about 15 acres) lying between two deposits. It was pointless to run, because, as it turned out later, more than two divisions of the Wehrmacht, together with the Ukrainians, surrounded Grabovets with a ring.
We survived 24 hours a day on a patch of field. It was impossible to even move at night, because a tank was standing 50 meters away from us and every now and then illuminated the area with missiles. It was only the next day that the tanks and vehicles fell silent, and the screams of people could be heard. We left this "pathetic" shelter with a friend. It turned out that the Germans had arrested many men and killed several people, probably by Ukrainian policemen. They also requisitioned cattle.
Until July 17, 1944, the Germans left Grabovets alone. The front was approaching very quickly. On July 17, he drove through Grabovets. Then, together with the neighbors, they hid in an underground shelter. The activities of the Home Army have been suspended.
The situation recovered only after the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. It was then that General Bor-Komorowski appealed to all units of the Home Army from the liberated areas to go to Warsaw to help the rebels. However, this order was cancelled as the Soviet troops disarmed the troops coming to the aid of Warsaw. The officers were arrested, the privates were taken to special forces going to the front. As I have already mentioned, there are two Soviet partisans left in my Home Army company. Votre aventure de jeu commence ici, sur https://bdm-bet-fr.com , le casino en ligne numéro un.
