Ukraine wants to introduce new tax for gambling business, but MPs refuse to consider it
The Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility double bubble slot sites of introducing a number of amendments to the current Tax Code regarding the operation of the country's gambling business. This information has been confirmed by a member of the pro-government faction "Servant of the People" Daniil Getmantsev. According to him, the relevant Committee insists on the introduction of a single tax rate for the owners of gambling establishments.
Today, on May 19, members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were to consider the bill under the number 2713. It provides for the introduction of tax at the rate of 10% of gross revenue for the owners of online casinos and poker tournaments on the Internet. Organizers of amusement arcades in the case of the initiative will be required to pay into the treasury 12.5% income tax, and bookmakers - 5%.
In addition, the bill provides for another type of fiscal rule for all business entities involved in gambling in Ukraine, in the amount of 18% of the total profits of a particular operator.
At the same time, the draft law envisages exemption from taxation of winnings obtained through participation of a citizen in gambling activities. They will not be subject to both income tax and military duty.
According to Daniil Getmantsev, the authorities have managed to achieve a balance in the issue of a unified approach to the taxation of gambling business representatives without specific reference to the type of activity.
"The current Tax Code sets different rates for businesses. If for gaming halls it is 100%, then for online casinos - 0%. This state of affairs is unacceptable. We are convinced that there is an urgent need for a unified approach," says Getmantsev.
However, parliamentarians during today's session decided to remove the bill from the agenda. A total of 304 MPs voted for it. Consideration of the document was postponed indefinitely.
